Ghana manager names 22-man squad for Japan, South Korea friendlies

ACCRA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Ghana Black Stars head coach Otto Addo on Tuesday named a 22-man squad for international friendlies against Japan and South Korea beginning this week.

Addo's list mixes youth and experience, with Prince Kwabena Adu, Kelvin Nkrumah and Prince Osei Owusu earning their first call-ups.

The Black Stars will be without several key players, including Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Alexander Djiku, Ernest Nuamah and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

Ghana will face Japan in the 2025 Kirin Cup at Toyota Stadium in Nagoya on Nov. 14, before traveling to Seoul to play South Korea four days later.

The matches are part of Ghana's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the team sealed qualification earlier this month.
