They're weathering the injuries pretty well.

The third-year outside linebacker isn't coming out of nowhere. He had 8.5 sacks a year ago, but he's taking it up a notch this year. After recording another sack Sunday against the Steelers, he's tied for fifth in the league with eight, and he's tied for third in the league with 48 quarterback pressures.

They've now held three straight opponents under 225 yards of offense, which is a big reason why they're suddenly back on track with three straight wins.
No. 10: Brent SobleskiBleacher Report(Last Week: No. 12)
Thanks to an offensive game plan that featured a lot of quick passes, though, the running of Kimani Vidal and another stout defensive effort, the Chargers are 7-3 and just beat a first-place team with relative ease.

Jim Harbaugh on Justin Herbert, who appeared to be limping after Sunday's win over Pittsburgh: "I do have an update on his physical status. He's still a beast."

The Chargers are 5-1 when Mack plays and 2-2 when he's out. At 34, his presence changes the way this defense performs. Opposing offenses have to account for Mack with chip blocks and double-teams, and he makes this defense one of the league's best at stopping the run. He has four sacks in his six games, including one for a safety Sunday night.

Now at 7-3, this team might need only tiebreaking wins over Houston and Jacksonville to secure a wild-card playoff spotand just like in Survivor, no one wants to face off against the lucky contestant when it counts.

Los Angeles deserves credit for excellent coverage and pressure. There were things I liked offensively, too. Kimani Vidal has continued to provide quality reps in the backfield, and in recent games, Ladd McConkey has reprised the go-to-guy role he earned last season.
No. 11: Vinnie IyerSporting News(Last Week: No. 14)
The Chargers are bolting up again with Jim Harbaugh getting his style of play. From Justin Herbert hanging in there to the running game, to coming through no matter who's back there. That Chargers defense made a key statement vs. the Steelers.
No. 12: Frank SchwabYahoo Sports(Last Week: No. 13)
The Chargers' defense will keep them viable, even if the injured offensive line has a tough time protecting Justin Herbert. The Chargers have allowed 197 yards per game over their last three.
No. 12: Pete PriscoCBS Sports(Last Week: No. 12)
The defense showed up in a big way against the Steelers. With the offensive line an issue now with injuries, they might need a lot more of that down the stretch.

For all of their injury issues on offense, the Bolts' defense has been quietly dominant of late allowing just 591 yards and 40 points total over the past three weeks. OLB Khalil Mack just joined late Hall of Famer Kevin Greene as the only players to ever record at least 35 sacks with three different franchises.
