ACCRA, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Ghana Statistical Service said Wednesday that the country's economy grew 3.8 percent in October 2025, a 0.8 percentage point increase over the same period in 2024.

Addressing a press briefing on the monthly growth rate in Accra, the capital of Ghana, Government Statistician Alhassan Iddrisu said the growth was mainly driven by the services sector.

"The services sector recorded a growth of 5.5 percent in October 2025, compared to 5.6 percent in October 2024, driven largely by communication, wholesale, and retail trade," Iddrisu said.

He added that the industry sector recorded a growth of 3 percent in the month, compared to 0.4 percent in the same period in 2024, with agriculture growing at 0.9 percent, compared with 2.1 percent a year earlier.

For sector-by-sector contribution to the overall growth, the government statistician said the services sector contributed 74.7 percent, industry accounted for 28.7 percent, and agriculture 1.3 percent of the overall 3.8 percent expansion, respectively.
