Damascus, Dec. 23 (SANA)Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster ManagementRaed al-Salehmet on Monday with theLibyan Ambassador to Syria, Walid Ammar, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in emergency and disaster management, including the exchange of expertise and institutional capacity building.
During the meeting, al-Saleh stressed the importance of developing joint cooperation mechanisms to address natural and humanitarian disasters, noting that Damascus places particular importance on expanding its regional and international partnerships in this field.
For his part, the Libyan ambassador praised Syrias experience in disaster management, expressing Libyas desire to benefit from Syrian expertise and exchange experiences to strengthen the capacity of Libyan institutions to respond effectively to emergencies.
The meeting comes as part of efforts to boost relations between Syria and Libya, reflecting both sides keenness to expand cooperation in humanitarian and service sectors and the deep historical ties between the two peoples
